Zillow recently listed Buffalo as one the hottest markets for prospective homebuyers. Soon, mother nature will give Buffalonians another reason to be excited.
On April 8, 2024, at about 3:15pm, the Western New York region will be able to view a solar eclipse. Many schools have planned to close for the day, and hotels in Niagara Falls are almost completely booked as people prepare to witness the solar eclipse while surrounded by the Niagara Falls, yet another natural phenomena.
Though the solar eclipse is just under two months away, it’s good to get prepared now. The Buffalo Science Museum (“ the BSM”) has solar eclipse glasses available, as do Buffalo and Erie County Public Library locations.
The BSM also has the following tips to safely experience the solar eclipse.
- If purchasing glasses on your own, beware of where you choose to buy them. One vendor BSM recommends is Rainbow Symphony.com.
- Plan to be somewhere safe! During the eclipse, the BSM website says, “it will appear as though night has fallen in the afternoon hours: automated streetlights may come on and animals may go quiet.”
- Lastly, enjoy! According to the BSM, depending on conditions, “stars and planets may appear, as well as the Sun’s swirling atmosphere, called the corona.”
Happy viewing!
Sincerely,
